2 versions of baseball could be seen until the American Civil war began in 1861-1865. One was the game played in Massachusetts that is played with softball. On the contrary, those playing in New York used to play hardball. Later on, soldiers from NJ and NY taught their respective indigenous games to others during the civil war. Gradually, it is seen that the game used to be played in New York became predominant.

Baseball Game Was a Full Medal Sport Between 1992 to 2008

The first five men elected in this NPO were Ty Cobb, Waler Johnson, Christy Mathewson, Babe Ruth, and Honus Wagner.

The fastest and most professional Baseball game till now lasted only for 31 minutes. The game was held on 30th August 1916, in Asheville, North Carolina, wherein, The Winston-Salem Twins defeated the Asheville Tourists at 2-1. Though the game was scheduled at 2 PM 

originally but it ended before the time, even when it was supposed to start.

William Howard Taft, Was the First US President to Start a Ritual

For the first time, a USA president, William Howard Taft, threw the ceremonial first ball. Before this historical event which was held on April 14, 1910, several years before, this 27th USA president, William Howard Taft, was a semi-pro baseball player also during some time. After he initiated the process of throwing the ceremonial first ball, other succeeding American presidents started doing this ritual of throwing out the first ceremonial ball on an opening day. However, Jimmy Carter didn’t follow such an act and thus remained on the list of exceptions.

The Least Number of People in a Baseball Game Recorded is 347. 

In a Baseball game set in 2011, the Cincinnati Reds and the Florida Marlins were playing against each other. But, it was seen that only 347 people could attend that game because of Hurricane Irene.

There Was a High Demand for Baseball Cards in the 1990s

Baseball cards were attractive due to their handsome worth from the 90s. Many collectors and speculators used to purchase several baseball cards. With increasing card shops on almost every corner, baseball cards became a major part of the livelihood and thus a mainstream of that era.

A Metropolitan Museum of Art holds a collection of baseball cards by Jefferson R. Burdick. An estimated 30,000 baseball cards were collected from the sport’s starting days. The collector of those cards, Jefferson Burdick, started collecting those cards when he was only 10 years old. Though he gathered a huge collection of baseball cards, it’s shocking that he never attended any baseball game.
